Compactors

Industrial compactors are used by a business to simplify or save money on waste management processes. They are larger and can handle larger amounts of waste. The collection of recyclable and reusable materials is a focus for modern industrial operations. Compactors are used in a variety of industrial applications, with stationary and self-contained compactors being the most common.

Compactors can often provide a practical and cost-effective means for handling and transporting the materials generated during production or manufacturing processes. This type of equipment can be a good choice for wastepaper, solid waste, product returns, product destruction, food waste, and even agricultural waste products. Self-contained compactors offer the flexibility of processing both wet and dry materials, while stationary compactors are typically used for dry materials only. Compactors can be part of an integrated trim or scrap conveyance system or used in place of a baler, particularly for trash or bulk waste applications. Material type, volume, indoor vs. outdoor placement, and logistics all factor into the compactor selection equation. Let the equipment experts at AES guide you in choosing the right compactor for your application.

Stationary Compactors

Two-piece system with a compaction unit and a container that is removed to a roll-off truck by the waste hauler and replaced with an empty unit. Used primarily for dry materials, stationary compactors are a good choice for manufacturers and large retailers.

Self-Contained Compactors

The compaction unit and container are one piece. The entire compactor is removed by the waste hauler on a roll-off truck and returned when empty. Used for both wet and dry materials, self-contained compactors are commonly used for residential communities, universities, nursing homes, hospitals, and bottling facilities.

Auger Compactors

This type of unit uses a large screw (or auger) to compress heavy-duty waste. Auger compactors come in both stationary and self-contained units and are primarily used for heavy industry and manufacturing applications.

Pre-Crusher Compactors

A heavy-duty compactor that uses a steel bulkhead to break down large, bulky waste such as wood waste, pallets, and furniture before compacting the waste into the container. Pre-crusher compactors can be found in large distribution centers, automotive manufacturing, woodworking shops, metal fabrication, and other heavy industries.

Specialty Compactors

Available in both self-contained and stationary models, specialty compactors are designed for specific uses and space configurations, including apartments and high-rise buildings, fast food restaurants, hotels, schools, and other applications with limited floor space.

Compactor Containers

Available in a variety of styles and sizes depending on volume and type of material, compactor containers are the box or container that holds waste after compaction. The container is typically removed from the compaction unit by a roll-off truck to be emptied at a transfer station or landfill.
